The Adoption Journey
We have carefully designed our process to be as heartwarming and clear as possible, ensuring every Moonburrow mouse finds the perfect family match.

Initial Inquiry
Start by sending us a message through our application form. We would love to hear about your experience with pets and the whimsical habitat you are preparing for your new companions.

Tailored Consultation
We will chat about the personalities and temperaments of our available litters. Matching the right mouse personality to your lifestyle ensures a lifelong, happy bond.

Hold & Reservation
Once you’ve chosen your babies, a small hold deposit secures them. You will receive regular photo updates and stories as they grow from tiny beans to curious companions.

Preparing the Burrow
While your mice prepare to leave the nest, we provide care guides and setup advice. We want to ensure you feel confident and fully equipped for their arrival Day.

Welcome & Home Day
At 6 to 8 weeks, your new friends are ready for their new adventure. We arrange a safe, stress-free meeting to transition them into your care and start your story together.
Adoption Policies
Holds & Deposits
- Small non-refundable deposit to secure a hold
- Deposits are applied to the total adoption fee
- Once a mouse is old enough to go home and has been reserved, we will hold them for up to 14 days. After this period, the reservation may be released unless other arrangements have been made.
Age to Go Home
- Minimum 6-8 weeks of age at pickup
- Fully weaned and socially independent
- Must meet all health and weight milestones
Returns
- Mice may be returned for life, no questions asked
- No rehoming to pet stores or third parties
Basic Care Requirements
- Minimum habitat of 20-gallon long tank with proper ventilation
- Daily fresh water and access to a high-quality diet
- Appropriate enrichment, nesting materials, and dust-free substrate
- Females can be housed together; males kept individually normally some cases they can be kept together.
Pickup Confirmation Policy
Adopters choose a preferred pickup date when submitting their adoption form. Please confirm your exact pickup time at least 48 hours before your selected date so we can prepare your mouse for transport.
If we do not receive confirmation within this timeframe, we may need to reschedule the pickup or release the reservation.

Fees & Deposits
• $20 for one mouse
• $30 for two mice
Adoption Fee
Reservation Deposits
• $10 for one mouse
• $15 for two mice
Deposits are non-refundable and apply toward the total fee.
Pickup / Transport
Meet-ups or delivery may be available within 60 minutes of Medford by prior arrangement and are scheduled on weekends only.
Delivery may require an additional $10–$20 transport fee depending on travel distance.

This application is our first step in ensuring every sweet mouse goes to a safe, cherished, and well-prepared home. We take great pride in finding the most loving match for each of our babies.
When the big day arrives, please remember to bring a secure, well-ventilated carrier—we want their first journey home to be safe and snug. Cardboard boxes are not accepted.
